Hit me on my IPhone

I’m not really one to post about stuff. But I found myself waiting in line for 2.5 hours Sunday waiting on the “IPhone 2.0″. Now I didn’t jump on the first and second batches that came out. Because lets face it 400-600 bucks for an IPod with a phone in it. Could it be worth it? Almost a year later Apple released a development kit for companies and users to develop software for there device. Ahh there could be something to this IPhone. Apple developed its own apps for this phone but let’s face it. All the great minds in the world don’t all work at Apple. The thing that really grabbed my attention was syncing of calendars to computers remotely and on the fly. Meaning a potential client could call me ask me if I’m available on a date and I could give them answer on the spot. Sure phones could do this before. But me having to plug my computer in every night to update my calendar just wasn’t going to work for me. This was just the beginning. When I began working at Myxer in August of 2007 Myk the CEO and I had a great conversation. He spoke of the cell phone being the most personal item you could own. And being that its with within an arms grasp at all times. There probably isn’t anything we are closer to then maybe a piece of jewelry. He spoke of how phones would essentially become computers and everything would be done on them. Well he was right. This phone can do everything and it hasn’t even scratched the surface of it’s potential yet. Apple is going to force the rest of the cell phone manufacturers and carriers to open up there networks and give people what they want. Freedom to customize and personalize there device the way they want to. We the consumers have been bullied by them to long. They decide what we can have on our phones and how much it should cost. So I say to T-Mobile, “So long. I was with you for 7 years having bills that ranged from 75-400 bucks and when my phone broke and I needed a replacement. You wanted me to pay 200 bucks for an obsolete piece of crap. Good Luck with your endeavors. I’ll be hanging with Apple and ATT in the almost “Free World”.”

 North Carolina - Part 3

Here is the last post from my North Carolina Trip. There are a ton more photos but some memories are just for me. I chose these selected few because I felt the pretty much summed up the trip. North Carolina as many of you know is amazing. Who would think you could pull off the road and go tubing or sit under a waterfall and not have to pay to park or see it. It was a great trip with a lot of down time. Seems weird when I think about it, but when you are in beautiful places it seems like you just want to sit outside, relax and talk. We did a lot of that. There is just something about nature or scenic places that sedate me. Just not the same sitting on my porch at home surrounded by cookie cutter houses staring up at direct tv dishes mounted on the sides of houses. P.S. the sunset pics are out of camera. No photoshop. Enjoy

Franklin North Carolina - 4th of July Parade

Part two of our North Carolina trip takes us to the annual 4th of July Parade. Some of the family wasn’t really into going to the parade, but my mother as well as myself were adamant about going. There is something I just love about small towns. I love how different the lifestyle is. You could tell this parade was a big deal and everyone came out to show tribute. I think I was the only person on the street not wearing red, white or blue. Anyways. These people love there dogs. There were more dogs in this parade then people or cars. They actually have a contest for the dogs. With categories like most patriotic. Gotta love it. There was even a stunt show with dirt bikers. Good Times. Enjoy
